Amnesty statements written by Iraqi officials on ex-hostages' release documents

Mr. Majeed Hassan Ali

Mr Majed Hassan Ali was released from detention on 18 April 1988, after having been in detention from 1980. He was then returned to the army to complete his national service and given the military identification document copied here. The left hand page of the bottom document states, in rough translation, that Mr Hassan Ali has been released from detention under the amnesty granted by the leader Mr President (Saddam Hussain) and that he was among the group of young detainees of Iranian origin.

Mr. Khatum Shaik Musa

Mr Kathum Shaik Musa was released on 27 May 1990 from the General Security Headquarters in Baghdad, after having been there from 2 October 1983. On his release he was given the above document. In rough translation, it states that the above names has been released under the amnesty granted by the leader Mr President (Saddam Hussain) and that he has been detained from 2 October 1983 as an Iranian.
