Dear Mr President,

Further to my letter of 13 April 2003 I wish to tell you how glad we are that Mr Barazan al Tikriti has been captured alive and is being interrogated.

I enclose copies of two pages from a report which I originally wrote in January 1995. The full report, updated and with maps and appendices, can be read on our website.

My brother Jamal, who was featured in the leaflet enclosed with our last letter, was one of the 750 detainees removed from Abu Ghraeb in July 1981 on the direct orders of Barazan al Tikriti. If anyone has knowledge of Jamal's fate it is he. In fact, he is the person likely to know most about the fates of all the hostages.

This matter is of great urgency as there are rumours that the defainees may have been left to die in their underground prisons.

I therefore ask you please to ensure that this issue is thoroughly investigated by those who are questioning Barazan al Tikriti.
